Are you happy?

If being unhappy is the opposite of being happy, then sorrow, sadness, and misery are the opposite of joy.

Isn’t that something to think about when it comes to how strong and long-lasting this feeling is? Happiness is like a passing cloud that comes and goes, often depending on what’s happening around us. I can feel happy with a good cup of coffee, but then someone might interrupt me, and the coffee gets cold, and I’m not happy anymore.

Joy, on the other hand, is when you feel a deep sense of peace and contentment that becomes a part of who you are. You’re in tune with your purpose and the actions that make you feel truly alive. Joy goes beyond just you and invites others to join in.

It’s interesting to see that the way to find joy isn’t to try to get more short-lived happiness, but to focus on family, friends, and helping others. It’s about giving without expecting anything in return. Joy really grows when you’re not trying to achieve anything, when you’re just… enjoying the moment without any expectations.
