You’ve read about this thing, followed the right blogs and posts, listened to the right podcasts, and made some small changes. But the real breakthrough hasn’t happened yet; but there will always be that one trigger moment.
In an instant, everything changes. You see it, you feel it, and then there’s no stopping.
For me, this happened after an event we hosted for friends. The party was winding down, and most people had left. I went back into our kitchen and saw our friend, who was loading the dishwasher. The pots were already clean and sitting on the drying mat.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. “Well, since you did all the hosting, I’m helping with cleaning up. It’ll look much nicer tomorrow morning.”
That’s all it took. The kitchen looked much nicer the next morning. There were no dirty piles waiting to be dealt with, just a relaxed start to the day.
What started in the kitchen spread to the rest of the home. Decluttering and minimalism went from a loose concept to a lifestyle. Things go back to where they belong, and rooms are arranged every night. Purging through items no longer needed is a routine. Do we really use this, does it still add value? Let go.
Every day starts more relaxed now.
Have you had your trigger moment yet?
