Living With(out) Plants

Do plants in a decluttered home follow the same rules as other items?

Yes, the question of whether something adds value is relevant here as well. Collecting plants that don’t benefit you is not a good idea. Generally, pots should be avoided on kitchen countertops and dining tables, and I would also challenge their feasibility on work desks.

A large, solitary plant can be the centerpiece of a minimalist room, carefully curated like a piece of art. The intentional placement of the plant demonstrates its importance. Additionally, green color is known to promote calmness, and contrasting it with white and light shades creates a visually appealing effect.

Matching or uniform planters help eliminate any sense of unease and allow the greenery to stand out as the focal point.

Finally, when circumstances change, there will always be a new home for the plant, so you can let go.
