One of the most beautiful statements comes from the Stoic philosopher Seneca: “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.”
In these times, it seems like we need a break from a world that appears cold, unforgiving, and selfish. And it’s incredibly simple. At every turn, at every corner, there’s an opportunity to show that we care about the people around us.
Smile at a stranger. Wish others a great day when you exit the elevator. Let someone skip the line in the supermarket if they only have a few items. Hold the door open at the store. Or leave some money behind in the drive-through for a coffee for the next person.
It doesn’t take much to make a big impact on someone’s day. And if that person smiles or thanks you back, your day will change too. Just try it.
